Who are NPORS?

NPORS, the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme, is a well-established accredited training scheme in the UK.

NPORs Card Scheme

NPORS has introduced a card scheme to indicate the training and skill levels of workers, confirming their suitability for their plant-related roles.

Accreditation

NPORS is becoming well-known for its comprehensive training courses and adaptable approach to plant safety, establishing itself as a prominent accreditation provider in the industry.

Receiving specialised training results in obtaining an NPORS card. This card, displaying the CSCS logo, is similar to those issued by other certification bodies like CPCS. By following the ‘one logo’ rule, it ensures that each accrediting body’s certification is recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

The NPORS Operator Training program is meticulously crafted to align with the defined course objectives and learning outcomes based on the National Occupational Standards. The Operator Training card serves as evidence of the training or assessment an individual has completed, verifying their ability to operate plant machinery or equipment safely.

When a company identifies a potential candidate for the Plant Operator role, they can evaluate the necessary training needed for that individual to achieve certification. Whether the person is a beginner or a seasoned operator, an accredited training provider will assess their training requirements and offer suitable guidance. Depending on their level of experience, different theory tests, practical assessments, and training sessions will be conducted.

NPORS cards are valid for a period of three to five years.
